First Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan R290 Installed at Newby Bridge
From Oil Heating to Low-Carbon Comfort
Neil and Anne Clark wanted to replace their conventional oil boiler with a more environmentally responsible heating system.
However, they needed a solution that could work effectively with the property’s existing radiators. Its peaceful location near Lake Windermere also made low operating noise an important consideration.
How We Did It
Step 1 — Assessing the Property
We began by considering the property’s existing heating system, radiator setup and available renewable electricity generation.
The proposed solution needed to provide sufficiently high flow temperatures while avoiding unnecessary disruption.
Step 2 — Selecting the System
The Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan R290 was selected because it can deliver water temperatures of up to 75°C, making it well suited to properties transitioning from a conventional boiler.
Step 3 — Installation
We installed and commissioned the new air source heat pump, integrating it with the property’s existing heating infrastructure.
The completed system was tested and configured to provide dependable heating.
The Work
The existing oil-fired heating system was replaced with a Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan R290 air source heat pump, providing the property with a lower-carbon alternative while allowing the existing radiator system to remain in use.
The system was carefully configured and commissioned to provide reliable heating while taking advantage of electricity generated by the property’s existing solar array.
